Poor Joan Burton. She thinks the Germans pay her expenses and wages. So someone ring Labour and tell them they’re finished in the next election. They’ll answer phones paid for by the taxpayer and drink Dail beer paid for by you.

The CSO recently calculated wages, and it was done, by including the wages of management in these sectors and that’s why the number is so high. As a result, it gives a very misleading view that the public sector earns way more than private sector and it’s a deliberate act. The wages of management staff are way too high in the public sector.

Emmet Murphy’s comments on the former taoiseach, late Albert Reynolds, suggests a particularly Irish beatitude — “Blessed are the begrudgers, for they shall see their names in the papers.”

Now that Albert Reynolds has passed his part in the peace process won’t be forgotten. A man who was involved with FF, a tribunal and skeletons in a very big FF closet.
