Larsson waits for Barca offer
Sweden striker Henrik Larsson insists he has received no offer from Barcelona - but admitted he would be delighted to join the Catalan giants.
Reports in the Spanish press claimed Larsson, who has scored three goals in Euro 2004, had already agreed a two-year deal with Barca, but the former Celtic striker denied there had been an agreement.
âHowever, it would be great if it is true,â he said on Thursday.
Larsson is available on a free transfer from Scottish champions Celtic and will be hoping to fire the Swedes into the semi-finals with victory over Holland in Saturdayâs last-eight tie.
If he were to move to Barca, it would almost certainly see the end of the clubâs pursuit of David Trezeguet, with the France striker close to agreeing a new contract with Juventus.
âTrezeguet will stay in Turin,â Juve vice-president Roberto Bettega told the newspaper.
â[Juve director general] Luciano Moggi and Trezeguetâs father have been talking during the European Championships about his new contract.
âNew coach Fabio Capello wanted him to stay, and we are now working to increase the contract of Trezeguet.â
