Four arrested after €100k drugs seizure in Dún Laoghaire garda operation
Four people, including a juvenile, have been arrested following a Garda operation in Dún Laoghaire during which approximately €100,000 worth of controlled drugs was seized.
Four people, including a juvenile, have been arrested following a garda operation in Dún Laoghaire during which approximately €100,000 worth of controlled drugs was seized.
The operation was carried out by gardaí attached to DMR East under Operation Meacán on Thursday.
A juvenile was arrested during the initial operation and is being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a garda station in the Dublin region.

Gardaí subsequently carried out warrant searches at residential properties in Casement Villas and Patrician Park.
Further quantities of controlled drugs, cash and scrambler motorcycles were seized during the searches.
Three additional people were arrested during the operation.
All three have since been charged with offences contrary to Section 15 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1977/84.
They are due to appear before Dublin District Court today, Saturday, August 15.

The drugs seized during the operation will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.
The operation involved gardaí from DMR East Operation Meacán, supported by members of the Divisional Drugs Unit, Serious Crime Unit, Dog Unit and Unit A of the Regular Unit.
Investigations are ongoing.
