Mick Clifford: No country for young people if housing crisis is not fixed

Today’s school leavers should be better equipped that those who went before to go out in the world and make the most if it. However, inequality is draining hope

How was it for you or yours? The Leaving Cert results dropped yesterday, bringing joy and depair, satisfaction and disappointment. On one level it remains a stain on the education system that one exam can be cast as having a hugely disproportionate impact on a young person’s life.

Plans are afoot to reform the whole thing, but that, like much else in public life, appears to be happening at a snail’s pace.
