The Catholic Church is often perceived as opposing progressive human rights issues.

However, the contemporary Church does not speak with ‘una voce’.

The false portrayal of the Catholic Church as a monolithic autocratic structure appeals to the diminishing conservative wing of our Church. It does not reflect the views of increasingly progressive believers who believe the Church is a movement led by the Spirit of God to recognise the equality of all, irrespective of sexual orientation .

Many Catholics - including priests and maybe a Bishop - will vote yes so our gay brothers and sisters can enjoy marriage of equal status.
