Our WWII soldiers have constitutional right to justice

IF Nick Foley (Letters, July 13) had studied the points made in previous correspondence he should have been able to grasp that our campaign is grounded on adherence to article 34.1 and article 40.3 of the constitution relating to the administration of justice and personal rights.

Our WWII soldiers have constitutional right to justice

Is Mr Foley suggesting that in this republic our constitution can only be applied to certain sections of society when it suits a political agenda? Are defence force personnel alleged to be deserters not entitled to natural justice pursuant to our constitution ? It seems Mr Foley is echoing the words of Oscar Traynor when he opined in 1945 that these “people are not worthy of consideration”.

I like many others from around the world beg to disagree.
