Cowen & Co show true colours

DO you not think it outrageous that the Taoiseach is asking us to vote for something which he hasn’t even bothered to read and therefore is incapable of understanding.

And despite the fact that Brian Cowen hasn’t read the text of the Lisbon Treaty, he feels entitled to bind the consciences of fellow party members to a yes vote. Incredible.

For the past few weeks we have been forced to endure a Government-backed smear campaign against the treaty’s opponents, that is against those people who have actually read it and clearly understand its dangers.

Cowen and his colleagues have revealed their true colours. They have demonstrated that they possess the closed minds of ideologically committed fanatics who are willing to put the interests of an anti-democratic integrationist project above the welfare of their fellow countrymen and women and the sovereignty and independence of their country.

If anyone doubted the insincerity of the Government and its contempt for voters, Mr Cowen has now demonstrated it graphically.
