Gardaí appeal for witnesses after Mayo pensioner is hit by car

Gardaí in Mayo are looking for witnesses following a collision in Castlebar at around 1.30pm this afternoon.

An 81-year-old woman was seriously injured when she was hit by a car on Pontoon Road. She was taken by ambulance to Mayo General Hospital.

Forensic collision investigators are at the scene, the road has is closed to traffic and diversions are in place.
