Two charged after shooting on Dublin house
Two men have been charged today in relation to a shooting in west Dublin.
The pair, who were in their 20s, were detained by gardaí when shots were fired at a house in Clondalkin just four hours after a criminal was gunned down nearby.
The men are not suspected of being involved in the murder of Pierce Reid, who died just yards from his home on Lealand Close on Friday night.
They were arrested by officers after a number of shots were fired at the door and windows of a house in Lealand Avenue. Nobody was injured in the later incident.
A shotgun and ammunition were recovered.
They are expected to appear before Dublin District Court tomorrow.
Meanwhile, detectives were continuing to probe the murder of Reid, who was killed in the Republic’s 18th gangland-style gun attack so far this year.
It is believed the 25-year-old was gunned down as part of a feud among criminal gangs in the Clondalkin area.
Shortly afterwards a stolen grey-coloured BMW car, registration 08 D 26305, believed to be the gunman’s getaway vehicle, was found partly burnt out at Lindisfarne Park.
Gardaí are appealing for information.
