A man who attacked a deaf and mute couple before robbing the woman of her handbag has been sentenced to two years.

A young Dublin man who once helped save a Romanian family from their burning home has been jailed for seven years for firing bullets through another couple’s front door and sitting room window.

Two men have been charged today in relation to a shooting in west Dublin.

Gardaí are tonight investigating the country’s 18th gangland-style attack so far this year.

A boy of 15 was today served with a book of evidence and remanded on bail to await trial over an €8,000 cocaine seizure in Clondalkin, in Dublin, last July.
