Children’s disability service Enable Ireland is seeking to raise €7m over the next four years after being granted planning permission for a state-of-the-art centre in Cork.

A record number of swimmers are set to take the plunge in the River Lee this weekend to help fund the development of a new service centre and treatment pool for children with physical disabilities.

There will be an Open Garden and a garden Party at John and Helen Fox’s house at Underwood, Rochestown, on Saturday May 28 to raise funds for Douglas Community Association.

CORK GIY will have its first first outdoor visit of the year, and seedling swap at Knocknaheeny/Hollyhill Community Gardens. 

This year the Lough Flower and Garden Club celebrates its 40th anniversary and next Tuesday at 8pm in the SMA Centre, Wilton, the founding and current members will demonstrate exhibits from today and from 40 years ago.

The Owenabue Garden and Flower Club, Carrigaline, will hold its decorative show on Monday, October 20 at 8pm in the Church of Ireland School Hall, (entrance beside the main gates to the Community School). 

A DUBLIN-based surgeon who travels to Cork to host a monthly clinic for children with severe physical disability has never been paid for the service. The clinic not been acknowledged by the HSE.
