The Owenabue Garden and Flower Club, Carrigaline, will hold its decorative show on Monday, October 20 at 8pm in the Church of Ireland School Hall, (entrance beside the main gates to the Community School).

A meeting of GIY (Grow It Yourself) will be held on Thursday 16 October at 7.30 in Church of Ireland School Hall, Marmullane, Passage West. The subject for discussion will be soil health. Meetings are open to people interested in growing food at all levels — from growing a few herbs on a balcony to complete self sufficiency — from beginners to old hands. Entry 2 which includes tea. Mallow Flower and Garden Club will hold its AGM in The Mercy Centre on Tuesday October 21 at 8pm. Deirdre O’Keeffe, Dairygold Garden Centre, will give a talk on “Autumn in your garden”. We would be delighted if each member brings along a non-member to introduce them to the world of flowers and gardening. Non members also welcome on the night free of charge.

Blarney & District Garden & Flower Club will host a mini quiz and slide show at the Community Centre, Whitechurch, on Thursday, October 23 at 8pm.

Bandon Flower Club presents a gardening talk by Willie Grainger in The Munster Arms Hotel, Bandon on Monday Oct 20. Visitors welcome.

Cork Flower Club meets on Tuesday, October 21 at 8pm in Canon Packham Hall, Douglas for an Imposed Class.

Skeheenarinky F&V Social Club’s Halloween/Autumn Floral demonstration is by Sandra Jackson AOIFA on Friday October 24 at 8pm in Burncourt Community Hall, Cahir. Admission €5 and all are welcome. Enquires 087-2887615

Cork Alpine Hardy Plant Society present Bob and Rannveig Wallis, of Buried Treasure, Wales to discuss:“Bulbs for the garden” on Thursday October 23 at the Lavanagh Centre. Bulbs for sale — all welcome.
