Plans have be en unveiled for the biggest ever retail, residential and office development in Co. Westmeath.

The €200 million Centre Project is a joint venture with Westmeath County Council and local builders Bennett Construction, and will create 1,500 new jobs for the area.

The buildings will span 11 acres of land surrounding Mullingar town centre and will include 100 apartments, a hotel and a range of shops and offices.

It's hoped the planning process will soon be complete and the centre will open within the next two years.
