A Limerick-founded jewellery business that makes popular Irish map necklaces has been awarded €50,000 under Carroll's Irish Gifts’ 2026 Fáilte initiative.

Fíor Jewellery was founded by Gaeilgeoir and entrepreneur Seán Leddin to create everyday jewellery pieces that "made me feel connected to home and to the Irish language," he said.

He started the company at 21 years of age, during the second year of his business and French degree at the University of Limerick. Seán chose fíor, meaning "true" or "real" in Irish, as the brand name, reflecting his vision of contemporary jewellery pieces rooted in the Irish identity.

The brand has collaborated with Irish influencer Niamh de Brún and has amassed a popular following online with its Ireland map, grá, and Claddagh-inspired collections.

Fíor Jewellery now has almost 60,000 followers on Instagram and 26,000 on TikTok and launched nationally with Kilkenny Design as part of its 2026 campaign.

Seán's business "stood out for its strong understanding of both its customer and its identity, taking Irish language and heritage and translating them into contemporary, commercially strong products," said Peter Hyland, CEO of Carroll's Irish Gifts.

As the Fáilte 2026 winner, Fíor will receive a €50,000 support package from Carroll's Irish Gifts, including retail space, online visibility, marketing and media support, mentorship and expertise across merchandising, product positioning and retail growth.

The award will put the brand in front of thousands of new customers, while giving them hands-on support from a team with decades of experience bringing Irish products to customers at home and overseas.

Its products will be available to purchase online and at Carroll's Irish Gifts' College Green and Westmoreland Street in Dublin.
