Justin Rose will play in this week's American Express World Championship at Mount Juliet following the death of his father.

Ken Rose died last week after a long battle with leukaemia.

Rose is seventh on this year's Order of Merit and could go top with victory at Mount Juliet, where the first prize is more than €1m.

The other English player taking part is Gary Evans, who is certain to partner Rose at the World Cup in Mexico in December.

He went past Nick Faldo on the money list with his sixth-place finish in the German Masters last weekend.
