Ballymaloe co-founder Rory O’Connell ties the knot with sweet detail
The chef, teacher and cookbook author said 'I do' to his partner Ruaidhrí Carmody at Ballymaloe House Hotel
Ballymaloe Cookery School's co-founder Rory O'Connell has tied the knot.
O'Connell said 'I do' to his partner Ruaidhrí Carmody at Ballymaloe House Hotel in East Cork on Thursday, October 15.
Sharing photos from his nuptials on Instagram this week, the Ballycotton resident wrote: 'One week married. What a day it was. So much joy.'
O'Connell founded the legendary cookery school alongside his sister Darina Allen in 1983, where he continues to teach to this day. The hotel is also owned by the Allen family.
The wedding was attended by fellow chef and cookbook author Clodagh McKenna, who was joined by her husband, Harry Herbert. Darina Allen and Rory's niece-in-law, fellow cookbook author Rachel Allen, were also among the guests.
McKenna offered a glimpse of the enviable wedding menu on Instagram detailing a Hors d'Oeuvre buffet, Ballycotton John Dory and a classic Ballymaloe cheese board.
"The most incredible dinner by head chef Dervilla Flynn", she said, highlighting the inclusion of one very sweet detail Ballymaloe is recognised for.
"Wedding desert trolley of dreams by the fabulous JR Ryall," she shared. Sure, it couldn't have been anything else!
