Clarke in third NEC Invitational

Ireland’s Darren Clarke will tee off in third place when the second round of the NEC Invitational begins in Seattle later this afternoon.

The Northern Irishman carded an opening-round 66 yesterday to finish tied with Davis Love III and Phil Mickelson on five under par.

The trio are just one shot off the lead held by Toshi Izawa and Retief Goosen.

Defending champion Tiger Woods is three shots off the lead on three under par after an opening round 68, while Padraig Harrington and Graeme McDowell are both on one over.
