Plans by the HSE to fully convert a former Cork hotel and golf resort into a community nursing unit have been delayed.
Planners at Cork City Council have issued a request for further information on the application, which focused on the former Blarney Hotel and Golf Resort.
The plan involved the retention of extensions and alterations to the former hotel, and a request for permission for the change of use of the former hotel into a community nursing unit.
The development made provisions for connections to public water mains and public sewers.
However, planners at Cork City Council have issued a further information request to staff at the Health Service Executive South.
It notes seven matters.
These include concerns over the location of the development, which is described as "some distance" from the closest settlement of Tower and the community and social amenities there.
Questions are also asked about the impact of the development on water supplies to six dwellings adjacent to the site, as well as concerns about signage, traffic, car parking, roads, and waste.
The HSE has up to six months to respond to the request.
Elsewhere, planning has been granted for a housing development in Kinsale, which involves the demolition of a former school.
Rafden Limited has been granted permission by Cork County Council for the demolition and removal of the former St Joseph's National School, located at Blind Gate Street and Rampart Lane in Kinsale.
In its place, the company plans to build 18 residential units, consisting of two five-bed houses, 10 four-bed houses, three three-bed duplex units, and three two-bed simplex units.
Car parking, bicycle parking, footpaths, lighting, and drainage works are all included in the plan too.
Meanwhile, a plan to build a grain storage facility at Marino Point in Cobh has been unveiled.
Comex McKinnon Limited has lodged an application with Cork County Council seeking permission for the construction of a grain storage and distribution facility.
A grain handling storage building and associated headhouse structure are also included in the development, which would be constructed at Belvelly Port Facility at Marino Point in Cobh.
Two weighbridges and associated offices and amenities are proposed too.
