A planning application has been lodged for temporary glamping pods in Adare to serve the Ryder Cup golf competition next year.

Pamper the Camper Ltd is seeking permission for temporary event facilities across two sites at Graigue and Cummeen, Adare.

The accommodation would be located to the west of the town at the junction of the N21 and R519 roads.

According to the application, Site A would include a tent area, glamping accommodation, a bar/lounge, a wellness area, a picnic space, and sanitary and water facilities, while Site B would provide campervan parking and car parking.

All structures would be removed and the lands reinstated after the event.

A website for the planned glamping experience has been advertising units at up to €900 per night during competition days.

Adare Glamping has advertised a “premium, festival-style glamping village” at a site located at Murphy's Cross, Graigue — a “10-minute walk” from the village.

The website is operated by Pamper the Camper, a camping supply business catering to those attending events such as Electric Picnic.

The organisers of the glamping site are not affiliated with the Ryder Cup or Adare Manor, but are offering accommodation options for visitors.
