Walk should not be used by buses

I HAVE just read a report (Irish Examiner, Wednesday, July 23) regarding the proposal to deprive the people of Blackrock and Rochestown in Cork of being able to use the Marina-to-Rochestown walk for recreation.

Walk should not be used by buses

City Manager Joe Gavin is over the moon at the prospect of 600 park and ride spaces on the Mahon side as those living here would be able to get into the centre of town. Mr Gavin denied that these plans are because of a commercial development on Mahon Point which is adjacent to the walkway. Buses that take passengers to town also bring them back, as Mr Gavin well knows.

Minister for Health Micheál Martin is one of our TDs. Passive smoking is a great worry to the Minister, but I wonder is he worried about people on the walkway inhaling fumes?
