Plastics plague should go up in flames

IN RESPONSE to Patrick Browne’s pro-incinerator letter (Irish Examiner, June 3), I agree we must recycle as much as possible — but where?

Plastics plague should go up in flames

The Kinsale Road landfill, like any other civic site in Co Cork, only allows us to bring plastic bottles.

What about all the other plastics in which most of our food and household goods are packaged? My non-recyclable waste would be minimal only for all these plastics.

All plastics are recyclable. Counties Waterford, Wexford, Limerick and Galway provide these facilities why not Cork County Council? Recycling facilities in Co Cork are a joke; in fact, in the whole county, we have five plastic bottle banks, none of them in Cork city.

Local bring banks are filthy because they are not emptied on a regular basis. Rather than shouting for an incinerator, let's hold Cork County Council responsible for failing to do its job.

Contact them and demand recycling facilities the more we recycle the less we have to pay for waste collection.
