Litter lesson

THE other day a friend and I were helping an old lady, who is very sick and in hospital, to make her living conditions a bit better. We took some things she no longer needed to the city dump in a car and single-axle trailer. We were asked for €60.

We said we had only an old bed, four black bags and a carpet belonging to an old lady.

We paid up like the good citizens we are. But when we left we realised why the countryside is becoming so unsightly with litter.
