Warm glow instead of intelligent broadcasting

I’VE just listened to RTE Radio 1’s new documentary Sixteen, in which teenagers are given an opportunity to speak for themselves about their feelings on “texting, make-up, religion, parents and friendships.”

The programme reaches new depths. No intelligent or challenging questions asked or answered, no new production values, just the usual warm RTÉ glow.

Is RTÉ condemned to be a flaccid life-support system for its admittedly excellent news and current affairs departments?
