Beautiful cathedral is being refurbished in keeping with its sacred character

I AM very surprised at the reaction of many parishioners to the changes envisaged to Cobh cathedral.

Having spent 46 years as a medical practitioner in Britain, I was privileged 12 years ago to return to the Cloyne diocese.

I feel so proud when I take my English friends sightseeing to the many interesting and beautiful places around Co Cork. Without doubt the magnificent cathedral in Cobh stands out, both for its outstanding design and its affecting sense of spirituality.
