Veteran athlete loses treatment costs relay

I AM a veteran athlete. Recently I had a muscle/tendon problem at the back of my knee.

I was treated by my usual osteopath who is highly qualified and has treated some of our top international runners. We agreed that a short period of ultra-sound might speed up recovery.

Ultra-sound is administered by a particular piece of physiotherapist’s equipment. I requested, and received, a brief note specifying information for a physiotherapist who declined to treat me without a GP referral.
