Listen to our business leaders

HEADS of major institutions, such as the IDA and Bank of Ireland, have wide and deep contact with the real world of business.

They have access to the best advice on commercial and international law.

They would be failing in their duty to their employers, the citizens or bank shareholders if they withheld vital information on an important matter such as the Nice referendum. The future of the banks and of business development are crucially concerned.

Instead, individuals and journalists criticise them for “interfering in politics”. If we silence those who have direct knowledge, we will repeat the caricature of democracy in which only one third of the electorate could make up their minds or understand the need and duty to vote.
