Given the time of year it seems appropriate to learn that Fáilte Ireland is to try to grow tourism in Ireland, with a particular focus on ensuring visitors are not wholly concentrated on Dublin.
This is a welcome development, given how significant an industry tourism is in terms of employment headcount — Fáilte Ireland stated that one in 10 people in Ireland is employed directly in tourism — but there appears to be a serious imbalance in the way many visitors experience Ireland.
