Celia Holman Lee is “making progress” following a major health setback, her husband has said.
The former model and founder of the Celia Holman Lee Model Agency withdrew from public engagements in October.
Speaking to the Sunday Independent, Ger Lee said: “It is slow, but she is making progress.” He also revealed that so many people had used the word “fighter” when contacting him or sending cards for his wife that he was considering having it engraved on a ring for her when she leaves hospital.
The couple, who have been married for more than five decades, have “been a team all our lives”, he added.
The update comes after concerns were raised about the model’s health when a statement was issued on behalf of her family revealing that she had suffered a major health setback and was receiving medical care.
The statement confirmed that the 75-year-old would be unable to attend public engagements for a period of time as she focuses on her recovery.
The setback came as she was promoting her coffee table book Glamour & Grit, celebrating her 60 years in the fashion industry.
