Young people in disadvantaged areas are seen as troublemakers and so are repeatedly and pointlessly questioned and frisked by gardaí. It’s degrading, says Michael Clifford.

One youth was stopped 20 times in a month by the gardaí. Each time, he had to ‘assume the position’, was frisked, told to empty his pockets, asked his name.
