Bookmaker gives their update on General Election betting - through dance

The current state of play in the General Election has sparked one bookmaker to create a video of some of our political leaders frolicking in front of the camera.

The music seems to be influenced by Gerry Adams’ "Three Amigos" label for Enda Kenny, Joan Burton and Micheál Martin, while the dancing looks like it’s been inspired by some of the finest dad-dancing our country has produced.

It starts off with Joan and Enda getting down to the sounds of Mexico, before the Fianna Fáil leader joins them for a shimmy.

Enter Gerry Adams which prompts Enda to run off into the arms of Micheál, leaving the Sinn Féin President to leap across to Richard Boyd Barrett of the Anti-Austerity Alliance/People Before Profit party and Stephen Donnelly of the Social Democrats.

It makes about as much sense as some of the election manifestoes, but it’s a lot more fun.

Hayley O’Connor of Ladbrokes said: "Micháel’s been most popular in the betting and Fianna Fáil in general have been backed to perform better than was expected. We’d have had an easier job selling ice cubes this morning than laying wagers on another Fine-Gael - Labour coalition, with punters only interested in backing alternatives."
