RTÉ articulates cultural importance of Irish
The RTÉ report on this new venture states: “For most of the Irish population, our language is one of the primary elements that define Ireland as Irish, the key to unlocking our place names and surnames, our cultural identity, to accessing uniqueness in a global mono-linguistic world...”
Those truths sum up the historic worth of our native tongue and I’m excited to see that our national broadcaster has realised the need for a genuine overhaul of promotion strategy and are aware of their nationwide power to implement it.
