RTÉ salaries should be public. We pay them

Recently, I made a request to RTÉ Lyric FM regarding the duration of the contract and the salary of one presenter.

I paid a fee of €30, non-refundable, under the Freedom of Information Act, but on both counts my request was turned down.

I am at a loss to understand this decision.

As a colleague observed: “We are paying his salary, but are not privileged to know what it is”.
