The people of Donegal aren’t obstructionist
The current referendum on marriage equality is being sympathetically and critically examined throughout Donegal by a people, with the time and education, to decide if it is the most appropriate remedy for an acknowledged omission.
The dilemma is how to give constitutional recognition, respect and protection to two mutually exclusive types of union.
Should Ireland say ‘no’, Donegal will continue the search for a constitutional solution which respectfully embraces the traditional view of ‘marriage’ but enhances it through parallel recognition of all loving unions.
