Cork traffic and weather: Humid conditions and highs of up to 25C in store ahead of rain

Highs of up to 25C and humid weather are expected on Monday before rain starts moving into the south later on in the day.

Monday will start off cloudy, with patchy rain and drizzle in the west and north.
It will be drier elsewhere with sunny spells coming into the south.
The rain will then turn persistent and occasionally heavy before moving southeastwards in the evening. Highs of 21C to 25C are expected for the day.
It will stay cloudy with some outbreaks of rain moving southeastwards early on Monday evening. Lows of 13C to 17C are expected.
Tuesday will be mostly cloudy with scattered showers in the west and north. It will become brighter in the afternoon with sunny spells developing. It will be cooler with highs of 16C to 20C.
Dry, clear spells will dominate Tuesday night with scattered showers mainly coming in the west and north. It will turn heavy at times in the northwest towards morning with lows of 11C to 14C.
Wednesday will see showers across the country, turning heavy and merging to longer spells of rain at times with highs of 16C to 21C during the day.
Showers will ease on Wednesday night before becoming mostly confined to the north and west with clear spells developing elsewhere. Lows of 10C to 14C are expected.
Looking further into the week, Thursday will be another day of showers, becoming widespread again before turning heavy and prolonged in places; highs of 15C to 20C are in store.
Friday then looks set to see sunny spells and showers, but they will not be as widespread as previous days, with more in the way of drier weather according to the national forecaster. Highs of 14C to 19C are in store.
Looking into the weekend, current indications show a more settled picture with sunny spells and just isolated showers.
Temperatures will likely range from the mid to high teens.
Meanwhile, current traffic reports indicate that there are no delays on the N40, M28 or other routes approaching Cork.
However, TII Ireland said those approaching Dublin on the M1 and M3 are facing delays on Monday morning.
