Regarding the Irish Examiner article (News, 30 January 2015) on “All-inclusive holidays to Greece facing the chop”, I would like to inform you that there are no such plans to ban all-inclusive resorts.

In fact, the new Greek Deputy Minister for Tourism, Elena Kountoura stated last week that “no action will be taken against all-inclusive products. On the contrary, a further quality improvement of all-inclusive products will enhance the diffusion of the benefits of this specific tourism product in local markets and societies”.

The Greek Deputy Minister of Tourism was astonished by some media, suggesting that “Greece is declaring war against all-inclusive products” and immediately wanted to reassure the tourism sector that such plans do not exist.
