RTÉ outmanoeuvred

VINCENT Browne’s presidential debate on Tuesday night was excellent.

The structure and robust questioning laid out by the host far outshone anything our state broadcaster has produced thus far.

RTÉ has yet again been outflanked and outmanoeuvred by an independent broadcaster who receives no licence fee from the taxpayer (RTÉ received in excess of €1bn in the last 10 years) and whose presenter by his own admission receives just €50k annually, a fraction that the fat cats get at RTÉ.
