Five points worthy of consideration

CONSIDER 1 ... In June 1992, we were told if we voted for Maastricht Europe would give us 800 million ECUs (European Currency Units) The ink was barely dry and we discovered it was only 600m ECUs.

Five points worthy of consideration

Consider 2 ... In 1984, Margaret Thatcher negotiated a diminution of Britain’s contribution to Europe which Tony Blair, in 2005, agreed to forego in return for a review of spending. That review has not happened and has been put so far on the long finger it likely never will.

Consider 3 ... The European Court of Auditors has refused to pass the EU accounts for the past 14 (or is it 15?) years because of the high incidence of fraud (see the EU website if you are a disbeliever).

Consider 4 ... The accountant who drew our attention to this last fact, Martha Andreasson, was sacked from the EU by her boss, NeilKinnock, despite the EU’s own whistleblowers’ charter’.

Consider 5 ... Declaration 17 attached to the Lisbon Treaty states “the treaties and the law adopted by the union on the basis of the treaties have primacy over the law of member states”.

Having considered these facts, is there any reason why we should trust this organisation?

Having considered these facts, is there one reason why we should vote yes?
