Labour party performing political somersaults

ARE we now witnessing another somersault of the merger of Democratic Left and the Labour party?

Labour party performing political somersaults

Who speaks for Labour on foreign policy — Pat Rabbitte or Michael D Higgins? Will Michael D Higgins accept the consequences of having his leader enunciate one policy today while he, as spokesman, articulates a different view tomorrow?

While a member of Sinn Féin the Workers Party and Democratic Left, Pat Rabbitte virtually made it a virtue to bend to every prevailing wind, to run with the hare and hunt with the hounds. To pretend that such contradictory behaviour is possible in a larger party beggars belief.
