WHY this slave-like following of English soccer clubs? No other country on the planet engages in this bizarre behaviour.

Imagine the French supporting German clubs or the Italians cheering for Real Madrid.

My only explanation for this phenomenon is that Ireland is undergoing a severe case of delayed Stockholm syndrome.
