The National Ploughing Championships are set to be pushed back in 2027 to facilitate the Ryder Cup.
To prevent a clash with the dates of the golfing tournament, the major farming event will take place from September 21 to 23, 2027.
Meanwhile, the Ryder Cup is scheduled to take place in Adare, Co Limerick, from September 13 to 19, 2027.
The National Ploughing Association (NPA) has been planning for some time to avoid a clash with the Ryder Cup after holding a number of meetings with tournament representatives.
However, no venue has yet been confirmed for the 2027 National Ploughing Championships.
This year’s Ploughing Championships will take place in Screggan from September 15 to 17.
In Limerick, preparations are continuing for the golf tournament, which will be held at Adare Manor.
To help transport thousands of spectators to the event, work has begun on a former railway station in Adare, which was acquired for €2m ahead of the Ryder Cup.
