A Circuit Court judge has lifted a gagging order imposed by a District Court judge to prevent the naming of a garda charged with false imprisonment and sexual assault.

William Ryan (35), who is stationed at Aughrim garda station in Co. Wicklow is charged with falsely imprisoning the woman and three counts of sexually assaulting her at Aughrim garda station on September 29, 2020.
