Alleged crime boss Daniel Kinahan wakes up in Portlaoise prison after life in Dubai

With no legal representation, Daniel Kinahan was remanded into custody and transferred to the maximum-security Portlaoise Prison in the midlands

Organised crime boss accused Daniel Kinahan has woken up in jail after several years of living in Dubai.

The 49-year-old Dublin native was flown to Ireland on a Government jet on Sunday, and immediately taken by high-speed Garda escort to the Special Criminal Court, where he was charged with directing the activities of a criminal organisation.
