Daniel Kinahan charged with directing an organised crime group at Special Criminal Court

Following the charge in court, he was remanded in custody and taken to Portlaoise Prison. He is due to appear before the court again on October 5

After one of the most intense security operations ever witnessed in this State, Daniel Kinahan was on Sunday night brought before the Special Criminal Court and charged with directing the activities of a criminal organisation between 2015 and 2017.

Barely an hour earlier at Casement Aerodrome in Baldonnel, he had been taken off the Government jet which had flown to Dubai to collect him from the custody of Emirati authorities.
