Ronan Kerr probe: Man due in court on terrorism charges
A man is due to appear in court today charged with terrorism offences after he was arrested by detectives investigating the murder of Constable Ronan Kerr.
The suspect, 33, and from the Omagh area, is accused of possession of firearms and explosives with the intent to endanger life and possession of articles likely to be of use in terrorism.
He will appear at Dungannon Magistrates’ Court, Tyrone.
Constable Kerr, 25, died three weeks ago today when a booby trap bomb exploded under his car in Omagh, Co Tyrone.
At the time of the killing police blamed dissident republicans for targeting the Catholic officer.
The device exploded as he got into his car to go to work, yards from where participants in a fun run had earlier passed by.
This is the first individual to be charged. Two others were released earlier this week.
