British-Irish body begins two-day meeting in Swansea
Politicians from throughout Ireland and the UK are gathering in Swansea today for the latest meeting of the British-Irish Inter-Parliamentary Body.
The organisation was established 19 years ago to promote mutual understanding among elected representatives from the various parts of Ireland and the UK.
The ongoing global recession and human rights issues are set to dominate the agenda at this week's two-day meeting.
The recent Eames-Bradley Report on dealing with the legacy of the Troubles in the North will also be discussed.
Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams, the chair of the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission and the president of the Irish Human Rights Commission are among those due to address the assembly.
