Mr Justice Michael Peart agreed to adjourn the matter, and listed the case to May 6th next for mention only.
The judge remanded Mr Garland (aged 74), Beldonstown, Brownstown, Navan Co Meath on continuing bail to that date.
The American authorities claim Mr Garland, Beldonstown, Brownstown, Navan, Co Meath, conspired with others outside the United States as part of a counterfeiting operation involving almost perfect copies of US dollars.
It is also alleged the counterfeiting involved the government of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea - North Korea.
