Four people hospitalised following serious two-car crash in Kildare 

The collision occurred on the R406 at Barberstown, Straffan, at around 2.15pm on Saturday. 

Four people were taken to hospital following a two-car crash in Kildare on Saturday. 

The collision occurred on the R406 at Barberstown, Straffan, at around 2.15pm on Saturday. 

Three occupants of one car were taken to hospital. The driver, a man in his 20s, was taken to Connolly Hospital. Two passengers, a man and a woman in their late teens, were taken to Tallaght University Hospital.

The driver of the second car, a woman in her 50s, was taken to Tallaght University Hospital.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to come forward.

Gardaí are appealing to road users who were travelling in the Barberstown area between 2pm and 2.30pm on Saturday and who may have dashcam footage of the incident or surrounding area to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.

Investigations are ongoing, gardaí added.

It is the second serious collision to occur on Saturday after three people were injured in a three-vehicle collision in Co Donegal. 

A woman aged in her 20s was airlifted to Sligo University Hospital to receive treatment for injuries, while two others were treated at the scene.
