Colm Mac Con Iomaire shares 'special' moment from inside Glen Hansard's wake

Colm Mac Con Iomaire, a bandmate of the late Glen Hansard, has shared a "special" moment from the singer's public wake, sharing the first images from inside the hall.
Oscar-winning musician Mr Hansard died on July 29 following a motorcycle crash in Dublin.
A public wake for the Frames frontman was held in the Baroque Chapel at IMMA, Royal Hospital, Kilmainham, on August 3.
Mr Hansard's wickerwork casket lay in repose as thousands of members of the public came to pay their respects. No cameras were allowed inside on the day.
However, Mr Hansard's bandmate with The Frames, Mr Mac Con Iomaire, has now shared a video from inside the wake.
He said: "We just wanted to share a single minute with you all from inside our friend Glen’s wake at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham last Monday. Our dear departed friend Mic Christopher [who died in 2001] had introduced us to the Hare Krishna movement in the late 80s nearly 90s [sic]. They were also a regular part of our street music days!
"An old friend, Ravinol, got in touch and asked would it be possible for himself and some friends to travel from London and do a ‘Kirtan’ with Glen. We of course were delighted that they could join us. It was very special.. Hare Krishna."
Kirtan is a form of music and chant that can be used to honour the dead.
Mr Mac Con Iomaire, a founding member of The Frames alongside Mr Hansard, performed on the violin at his funeral on Tuesday at St Patrick’s Cathedral
Mr Hansard is survived by his wife Maire, his three-year-old son Christy, as well as his brothers Gary, Dylan, Richard, and David, his sister Martina.
