Air-traffic dispute remains unresolved after talks
Talks between the Irish Aviation Authority and IMPACT which took place earlier today did not find a resolution to the unofficial action by air traffic controllers at Dublin Airport.
A statement released by the Irish Aviation Authority said: 'Unfortunately, the parties could not agree on a way forward and the Authority is now referring the matter to the Labour Relations Commission as a matter of urgency'.
The statement also explained that a continuation of the unofficial action by controllers could possibly lead to delays at Dublin Airport because the Authority would have to restrict the number of aircraft using Dublin's airspace.
The workers have begun a boycott on overtime to protest at what they say is a "chronic" staff shortage.
