Gardaí investigate double rape claims

Gardaí in Carlow are investigating the alleged rape of two young girls in the town on Wednesday night.

The 12 year-old and 13 year-old were allegedly raped on waste ground near the John Sweeney Park estate.

Gardaí say they are following a definite line of inquiry. They have asked for anyone who was in the area at the time to come forward.

Reports this morning said detectives had seized clothes belonging to a teen as part of their investigation into the incident.
